How Did You Measure Those Wicked Fast Performance Numbers?
The performance charts below illustrate the two extremes of performance that can be achieved with the Datalight platform.

Our platform delivers 20 times faster sequential write performance than JFFS2 when measured as responsiveness to application commands.
When measuring time to write data completely to the media, our platform delivers 2 times faster sequential write performance than JFFS2.
In real world use, developers can expect their results to fall somewhere between these extremes.
The multi-threaded modular architecture of the Datalight flash file system platform for Linux allows optimal use of the Linux cache, performing writes in a background kernel thread. Unlike other flash file systems, which only derive benefit from the cache at the "top" of the system, the Datalight platform uses caching in two places, above the file system and between the file system and the flash manager. We have written our products to take optimum advantage of the cache without compromising data integrity.
